Kia Unveils Bold New EV9 7-Seater Electric SUV

EV9 joins a growing roster of compelling EV family vehicles

Kia has given us our first look at the production version of its forthcoming EV9, a three-row electric flagship SUV. We first saw the EV9 in concept form at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show, and we're happy to report that the bold minimalist cues that made the concept so striking have largely carried over to the production version.

While still light on details before its global unveiling later this month, Kia has revealed a few highlights. The front fascia will feature striking lighting design, something Kia is calling the  ‘Digital Tiger Face’, and including ‘Star Map LED daytime running lights’ and a polygonal design language.

The interior is spacious thanks to this large SUV taking full advantage of a dedicated EV platform. All that room allows for "lounge-style" seating in all three rows. The interior also features two 12.3-inch touch screens and a 5-inch segment display make up the extended display high-definition audio visual, navigation and telematics (AVNT) screen.

So what does all of this cost? How much range does it have and how fast does it charge? Those details are not revealed yet, but our guess based on the technical strength of Kia's EV6 is this new big brother will be a compelling contender.
