Polestar has given us a look at an updated 2024 Polestar 2, and the new year will bring big updates including refreshed styling, more range, more performance, and some new features.
The 2024 Polestar 2 will come in two models: a Long Range Single-Motor variant, and its Long Range Dual Motor sibling. The single motor starts at $51,300, and the dual motor at $56,700, meaning both have increased in price ($1,500 and $3,400 respectively).
Polestar makes it clear that the car qualifies for $7,500 Clean Vehicle Tax Credit when leased (not when purchased). When an EV is leased, it's the leasing company (in this case Polestar) who receives the tax credit. With this clarification, Polestar is indicating that they will pass this savings through to their customers - that's not always guaranteed with other EVs, but Polestar seems to be indicating it will be their policy.
The single-motor variant has added 68 horsepower thanks to a new motor with increased output, meaning it now scoots to 60mph in 5.9 seconds - 1.1 seconds faster than before. The dual motor trim has increased to 415 hp with a 4.3 second 0-60 time.
Both variants will get a larger 82 kWh battery, offering an estimated 320 miles of range on the single motor (50 miles more than before!) and 276 miles on the dual motor (16 miles more).
Both variants see their DC Fast charging speed increase to 205 kW, a welcomed increase from 150kW.
In addition to all of this, Polestar is now offering more standard equipment including Blind Spot Information System with Steer Assist, Park Assist Sensors, Cross-Traffic Alert with Brake Support, 360-degree cameras, and auto-dimming door mirrors. The Dual Motor will also come with Pilot Pack, which is a previously optional suite of driver assistance features.
Deliveries of the new 2024 Polestar 2 are scheduled to begin in August.
